ABOUT SNOW THA PRODUCT

Claudia Alexandra Madriz Meza, aka Snow Tha Product, was born and raised in San Jose, California. Snow’s father and grandfather brought musicality to the family as mariachi singers and upon moving to San Diego as a teenager, she was introduced to hip-hop and began learning to freestyle.

CAREER

2007-2010: Beginnings and Early Success

At 19-years-old, Snow dropped out of her first semester at San Diego Mesa College in order to pursue a rap career. Initially, she went under the moniker Snow White the Product, which changed to Snow White Tha Product and, eventually, Snow Tha Product. She recorded a couple of songs in Spanish and drew the attention of Mexican artist Jaime Kohen. She collaboratedwith him on the song "Alguien", which became popular in Mexico and appeared on Kohen's album Fotosíntesis.

Snow released her first compilation album, Verbal Assault Vol.1, in 2007. The album featured several tracks by local artists and was released under her label Product Entertainment LLC. The following year, she released her debut mixtape, Raising Tha Bar: Tha Mixtape.  In 2009, Verbal Assault Vol. 2 was released, launching the single "Whatever It Takes."

Another compilation album, Wake Ya Game Up, Vol. 1, was released in 2010, alongside the Wake Ya Game Up and Woke clothing brands and apparel.

2010-2011: Unorthodox and breakthrough

Snow released the mixtape Run Up or Shut Up in 2010, which was hosted by UK artist DJ Ames and included the hit single "Drunk Love".

On October 26, 2011, her debut album, Unorthodox, was released on Street Science Entertainment and Product ENT. It launched three singles: a re-released "Drunk Love", "Woke Wednesday" and "Holy Shit". "Holy Shit" served as her breakthrough track – it was featured on 50 Cent's site ThisIs50.com and caught the attention of three record labels: Sony, Universal, and Atlantic.

2012-2014: Signing with Atlantic Records and Good Nights & Bad Mornings

Snow signed with Atlantic Records in 2012 and collaborations with DJ Paul and Krizz Kaliko followed. That December, she released the mixtape Good Nights & Bad Mornings, which launched three singles: "Cookie Cutter Bitches", "Damn It" and "Lord Be with You".

Its sequel, Good Nights & Bad Mornings 2: The Hangover, was released in October 2013 and features guest appearances from Tech N9ne, The Cataracs, Trae tha Truth, CyHi the Prynce, Dizzy Wright and Ty Dolla Sign. It was preceded by the single "Cali Luv". In August 2013, she featured on DJ Chuckie's single "Makin Papers" along with Lupe Fiasco and Too Short. That summer, Snow went on the Fight to Unite Tour with Kottonmouth Kings and Dizzy Wright and performed at the 2013 South by Southwest (SXSW) and Rock the Bells festivals.

In February 2014, she embarked upon the F#*K Your Plans (Come Kick It) tour. The following month, she was featured on the song "Not for the Weak Minded" by Kxng Crooked.

2015-2017: The Rest Comes Later and Halfway There… pt. 1

Snow released the mixtape The Rest Comes Later on June 30, 2015. Shortly after, she embarked on a tour of the same name with hip-hop duo Audio Push. In February 2016, she was featured on the remix to Joell Ortiz's single "Kill at Will". Halfway There… pt. 1, her debut EP, was released in May 2016. It reached number 13 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart and number nine on the Heatseekers Albums chart, and it was supported by the Halfway There Tour.

In November 2016, Snow joined rappers K'naan, Riz MC, and Residente on the track "Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)" on The Hamilton Mixtape. A video for the song was released on June 28, 2017, and it won an MTV Video Music Award in August 2017 in the category of Best Fight Against the System. In October 2017 she released the single "Nuestra Cancion Pt. 2", featuring Arcangel.

2017-2019: VIBEHIGHER and going independent

Snow’s unfinished mixtape VIBEHIGHER was released to YouTube in October 2017, featuring Castro Escobar, Lex the Great, Jandro, and AJ Hernz. This was followed by a tour of the same name that spanned 2017 and 2018.

In November 2018, Snow left Atlantic Records. The following month, she released VIBEHIGHER in its entirety on her independent label Product Entertainment LLC.

May 2019 saw Snow embark on the 30-date Going Off tour. On September 12, she went on tour again on a stint entitled Going Off: Part 2.
